THE PROJECT

SAGE'S VISION
For her senior project Sage was looking for a way to involve art and make it unique. Her project this year is to hand out desks that are just sitting up in the attic of the high school and have local artists take them and decorate to their pleasing, making beautiful pieces of art. She wants people to see that art can be more than just a painting or a sculpture.

The desks will be sold through a SILENT AUCTION at the Methow Arts event “the Revelers” on APRIL 20TH.

As they arrive, desks will be posted online via Facebook and at MethowValleyArts.org. SILENT AUCTION BIDDERS can start bidding as early as April 5th. Bidding will end on April 20th at 8pm.

The project raises funds designated for ARTS Education Programs in the Methow Valley School District which have experienced severe cuts in the last two years. Proceeds will go to both Methow Arts Alliance and Public School Funding Alliance. 100% of funding is designated specifically for local arts education.

ARTISTS
Several artists have committed to the project. So far we have progress on desks from Barry Stromberger, Donna Keyser, Laura Aspenwall, Laura Jae Cremin, Matt Armbrust, Sarah Vaughan, Steve Ward, and Thome George and Tori Karpenko. AND…there are more to come!

HOW FUNDING WILL BENEFIT STUDENTS AND ARTISTS
